OPS U10A win Oratory Tournament 19/9/2007

Less than ten days into the new term every boy from year five at the OPS enjoyed the hospitality of our senior school at the annual Oratory Rugby Tournament. The boys travelled from the OPS at noon and were treated to lunch before the A and B squads readied themselves for the afternoon’s rugby.

Our ‘B’ side played in the ‘Cardinal’s Shield’ competition against teams from Donhead, Davenies, City of London and St. Mary’s Hall and although finished in last position, gained valuable experience early in the season against good quality sides.

Our ‘A’ side won the ‘Cardinal’s Cup’ competition drawing once against The Beacon but winning their remaining fixtures against The Dragon, St. John’s Beaumont and Donhead.

The standard of rugby on display was high and enthusiastic supporters of the ten different squads lined the pitches for every match as the boys provided a feast of rugby!

The Cardinal’s Cup was presented to our victorious team by the Headmaster of the Oratory School Mr Clive Dytor, together with Mr Tom Hennessy the Head of Rugby.
